About Dr. Hanford
As a clinical psychologist with over 20 years of experience in the field, my passion is to walk beside you as you become your most authentic and free self. My approach is relational, trauma-informed and attachment-focused. I often utilize Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and/or Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) to reprocess trauma. I incorporate elements of dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and somatic approaches. I am certified in EMDR therapy through the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA). In addition, I have had advanced training in the treatment of eating disorders.

During the initial sessions we will work together to determine your unique needs and desires for therapy. I believe that therapy should be collaborative, as we work at developing a safe environment for you to explore your inner life.

Although I work with people of any faith, as a Christian who attended a faith-based university, I am able to integrate Christian faith into the work of psychotherapy.
