About Dr. Hanford

As a clinical psychologist my passion is to walk with you as you heal and growth into your most authentic and free self. My approach is relational and attachment-focused, and incorporate elements of dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and somatic approaches. I often utilize a therapy called eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy in order to help people to reprocess life's traumas. I am certified in EMDR therapy through the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA). In addition, I have had advanced training in the treatment of eating disorders.

During the initial sessions we will work together to determine your unique needs and desires for therapy. I believe that therapy should be collaborative, as we work at developing a safe environment for you to explore your inner life.

Although I work with people of any faith, as a Christian who attended a faith-based university, I am able to integrate Christian faith into the work of psychotherapy.
